MEN’S GROUPS

In many villages men were initially hostile to the idea of the women’s groups, sensing a  threat to their authority. But most have come to understand the great benefits for everyone.

Some men have imitated the women and created their own savings groups, freeing them from relying on loans at unfair rates from high-caste local families, traditionally the only access to credit for Dalits.
