Cindy Barrett, entrepreneur and marketing consultant, has brought her fund-raising enthusiasm to EDWON along with her design and communications skills. She holds a BA from Middlebury College in Vermont.
Eva Kasell, President and Cofounder. Eva has headed the US operation since its inception in 2003 and continues to play a critical role in strengthening EDWON through program development, fundraising, and management. Eva is trained as an architect and holds an MA from Princeton.
Walter Kasell, PhD. As Eva’s husband, Walter has long been informally involved with EDWON. He manages the Sponsorship Program. Walter has a background in education, communication and business, having held faculty positions at Brandeis and Princeton, and worked in high-tech for over 25 years.
Augusta brings a background in education to EDWON. She has published extensively on slavery and women in the context of American literature. She earned a PhD from Columbia University, and has held faculty positions at Oberlin, Harvard, Brown and Washington State University.
Albert, who was born and grew up in India, has always had an affinity for Nepal. He is a software engineer and a Service Delivery Manager at IBM, and serves as EDWON’s treasurer.
EDWON’s voluntary Board Members and Executive Director are extremely grateful to other volunteers and minimally paid consultants, who give so much of their time and talent. They include, but are not limited to the following individuals:
Mojdeh is passionate about global women’s issues, she brings crucial professional skills and experience to EDWON’s operation.She recently joined EDWON on part-time basis as the Development Officer. She has lifelong experience in both for profit and non profit management and planning. Her focus has been developing strategic partnerships and initiatives in support of education and economic empowerment of women.”
Sandy is a retired lawyer, who has worked for over 15 years on more than 30 assignments as a volunteer consultant for Executive Service Corps. He has helped nonprofits solve organizational problems, especially governance and strategic planning. Sandy has served on the boards of a number of nonprofits, including ESC, the Mass Bay Red Cross, Milton Academy and the Boston Bar Association. He is EDWON’s primary outside consultant.
Aletheia Donald is an economist at the Gender Innovation Lab of the World Bank, where she leads impact evaluations for projects in 3 African countries. Her work focuses on female empowerment, access to finance, agriculture and governance. Aletheia holds an MA from Yale University.
Greg is EDWON’s Webmaster, owner of Goldfarb Development and also works at Precision Design Studios. He is a graduate of the Boston University Center of Digital Imaging Arts. In addition, Greg is a professional flautist: “My background as an artist enables me to see what a true website should look like and then to create the magic. I then implement the functionality required to make the website fun and interactive.”
Tim is an Information Technology and Services Professional. He is donating his expertise to help EDWON set up and use the Salesforce online database platform. Tim holds a BS from Harvard University and lives in Portsmouth, NH.
Pam is a Semiconductor Design Engineer and works at Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. She is helping to implement EDWON’s new database and constituent management program. Pam is the go-to person, when situations and problems require a logical and systematic approach.
Eliza assists with EDWON’s social media outreach and development. She graduated from Boston University with her B.A. in International Relations and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, where she did extensive research on women’s rights in the Middle East and North Africa region. Eliza has been volunteering with EDWON since June 2014.
